Our props and costume list

In todays lesson we thought about what props we might included in our Opening sequence. As our idea is fairly simple and minimalistic it is key we include lost of interesting objects, seen to be the Killers trophies.

 Here are some of the  props I have gathered together as a list: 

- An anatomy book 

- knifes with blood on them 

- old oil lamp? - creates an old feel and atmosphere 

- poise lamp creates a clinical feel and atmosphere  

- magnifier glass (we could create a shot where the camera films through the microphone glass magnifying objects) 

- surgical tools, perhaps with blood on them 

- jars filled with different trophies e.g ears, eyes, hair, ribbon, nails, clothes, blood, fungus, moss etc...

- wooden boxes to put different trophies in 

- flowers dead and pressed, creating a symbolisation of the victims once being a beautiful and full of  joy to suddenly there life been taken away from them by the killer, and left in piece on the floor. 

- a dark wooden table with knots in it, clearly been used and  possibly having blood on it. 

- packages wrapped in string

- Polaroids (could look to modern, need to explore more) 

- newspaper articles from their crime 

- pictures of victims 

- pencils, used when adding to his anatomy books 

Costume list: 

- A dirty red flannel shirt- The colour of red can be a symbolic representation of the blood of the victims he has murdered. I think that the flannel shirt should be rolled up about elbow length, showing how busy he is and that he doesn't want anything to get in the way of his work. 

- Muddy neutral jeans- shows that he is up to a lot of crimes and been to a lot of crime scenes. The neutral colour gives a sense that he doesn't want to stand out and create a kind of camouflage feel. 

- Dirty boots, maybe blood on them-  perhaps the serial killer only wears one pair of shoes, perhaps this could be  part of his ritual of killing these innocent people. The fact that the boots are dirty also highlights the fact that he has been to a lot of crime scenes and committed a lot of crimes.
